Rajasthan Set to Become Global Skill Hub: PM-SETU and Apprenticeship Programs Gain Momentum

Ananya soch: A high-level review meeting between the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and the Rajasthan Government focused on accelerating PM-SETU and apprenticeship initiatives. The meeting was chaired by Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary, with Rajasthan Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore in attendance.

Rajasthan currently operates 1,537 ITIs, including 182 government and 1,355 private institutions. Under PMKVY 4.0, over 3.14 lakh youth have received training, with more than 2.5 lakh successfully certified. Over 1.04 lakh apprentices are actively engaged across 1,211 establishments.

Under PM-SETU, ₹60,000 crore has been allocated nationally to upgrade 1,000 ITIs and 5 National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs), aiming to train 20 lakh youth in emerging sectors.

Plans to establish Skill India International Centres in Jaipur and Bharatpur were also discussed to enhance global employment opportunities. Both governments committed to strengthening monitoring systems and industry participation to build a globally competitive workforce.
