Shekhawati International Art Residency Concludes Successfully, Global Artists Inspire Creative Innovation

Ananya soch: The prestigious Shekhawati International Art Residency, hosted at Mody University Laxmangarh from March 31 to April 4, concluded on a high note, bringing together renowned artists from across India and abroad. The event was organise under the leadership of art and cultural promoters Mahavir Pratap Sharma and Dr. Sangeeta Singh, creating a vibrant platform for artistic exchange and innovation.

The residency witnessed participation from eminent artists including Dilip Sharma, Kanchan Chanda, Parvati Nair, Pratull Das and Farhad Hussain, along with Monica, Miroslava, Akash Choyal, Deepak, and Pawan. Representing cities like Delhi, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Mumbai, and countries such as France and Canada, the artists brought diverse global perspectives to the campus.

Throughout the residency, artists showcased their distinctive styles while engaging with students and faculty through interactive sessions. These exchanges offered fresh insights and highlighted the transformative power of art in driving creativity and innovation.

During a special session, Mahavir Pratap Sharma emphasized how art and culture can reshape India’s creative landscape, boost economic growth, and encourage startup ecosystems. Dr. Sangeeta Singh highlighted the role of such initiatives in nurturing innovation and encouraging young minds to explore the essence of pure art.

Prof. Rajesh, Joint Dean of the Design Department, noted that hosting such a global residency in a remote Shekhawati region has empowered the university with a new creative vision. Engineering students, too, gained valuable exposure to artistic concepts like space, form, and material experimentation, broadening their thinking dimensions.

The event concluded at the Desert Resort in Mandawa with a celebratory gathering, where participants applauded the success of the residency. The university leadership assured continued support for similar initiatives in the future.
