Railway Update: Heritage ‘Valley Queen’ Extended, Route Changes & Partial Train Cancellation Announced

Ananya soch: In a major update for railway passengers and heritage tourism enthusiasts, North Western Railway has announced multiple operational changes, including an extension of the iconic heritage train service, revised stoppages, and partial cancellation of a special train.

‘Valley Queen’ Heritage Service Extended

The popular Marwar Junction–Khamli Ghat Valley Queen meter gauge heritage train will now run from April 1 to September 30, offering travelers an extended opportunity to experience scenic rail journeys. The train will feature one AC Executive coach, two meter gauge coaches, and a power car, ensuring a comfortable yet nostalgic travel experience.

Temporary Stoppage Change for Weekly Train

Railway authorities have also announced a temporary stoppage revision for the Kolkata–Madar Weekly Train. From May 22, the train will halt at Ranchi Road station instead of Barkakana, arriving at 8:00 PM and departing at 8:05 PM. Similarly, the return service from Madar to Kolkata will follow the same revised stoppage from May 26, ensuring better connectivity for passengers.

Partial Cancellation of Special Train

Due to operational reasons, the Bhiwani–Bandra Terminus Special Train will face partial cancellation on March 26. The train will remain cancelled between Borivali and Bandra Terminus, impacting passengers traveling on this route.

Focus on Better Connectivity & Experience

According to railway officials, these changes aim to balance passenger convenience, operational efficiency, and tourism promotion. While the extension of the heritage service boosts Rajasthan’s tourism appeal, the revised schedules and cancellations are part of routine adjustments to ensure smoother railway operations. Passengers are advised to check updated schedules before planning their journey to avoid inconvenience.
