Gajendra Singh Shekhawat Reviews Development Plans for Kumbhalgarh and Chittorgarh Forts

Ananya soch: Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat visited Kumbhalgarh to review conservation and development initiatives at Kumbhalgarh and Chittorgarh forts. Officials from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and district administrations presented progress reports and highlighted ongoing challenges.

The Minister emphasized strengthening basic tourist infrastructure, including parking facilities, drinking water arrangements, and improved accessibility. He directed authorities to introduce electric carts from parking areas to the upper sections of the fort to enhance ease of travel and increase footfall.

He also instructed installation of clear signage at Maharana Pratap’s birthplace and recommended QR-code-based digital information systems to provide authentic historical content online. Strict action against encroachments and illegal constructions was also discussed.

To boost visitor engagement, he suggested heritage walks, folk music performances, puppet shows, photography contests, and collaborations with social media influencers. An immersive experience zone using modern technology was also proposed.

The Minister stated that ensuring every visitor to Kumbhalgarh reaches the fort is a shared administrative responsibility.
