Ananya soch: The two-day ‘Soulful Qawwali Festival’ concluded on a mesmerizing note at Jawahar Kala Kendra, where the Krishnayan Auditorium echoed with divine Sufi melodies on Wednesday evening. Organized by Swagat Jaipur Foundation and North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, the festival brought together music lovers in a celebration of spirituality and harmony.

Ustad Anwar Hussain Niazi Steals the Show

Renowned qawwal Ustad Anwar Hussain Niazi captivated the audience with his soulful renditions. Beginning with a traditional qaul, he gradually elevated the atmosphere into a deeply spiritual experience, leaving listeners spellbound.

Amir Khusro’s Timeless Magic

The highlight of the evening was the iconic composition by Amir Khusro — “Ae Ri Sakhi More Piya Ghar Aaye…”. The heartfelt performance created an emotional connection, drawing loud applause and leaving the audience swaying to the rhythm. The bhajan “Khwaja Ji Thari Akhiyan Se Barse Gulaal…” further strengthened the message of communal harmony.

A Blend of Music and Spirituality

The harmonious accompaniment of harmonium, tabla, and dholak enhanced every performance, reflecting the richness of Sufi tradition. The artists also presented a manqabat in praise of Khwaja Sahib on audience demand, adding to the spiritual aura of the evening.

Supporting artists including Munawwar Hussain Niazi, Wahid Hussain, Shadab Hussain, Naved Hussain, Ashraf Hussain, Danish Hussain, and Nadeem Khan provided seamless musical support.

The festival was dedicated to Rajasthan’s renowned qawwal Mohammad Siddique, as shared by organizer Iqbal Khan Niazi. The event was gracefully anchored by Rahman Harfanmaula.
