Rajasthan Artist Mahesh Gurjar Gains Global Recognition as Tejaji Painting Showcased in Russia
Ananya soch: Rajasthan-based artist Mahesh Gurjar has brought international acclaim to Indian folk art with his remarkable painting of Veer Tejaji Maharaj being showcased at a prestigious global art exhibition in Russia. The exhibition was organized by the Saint Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design under its Institute of Design and Fine Arts, Department of Monumental Art.
Held from March 10 to March 24, the 15-day international exhibition-cum-competition featured participation from artists across the globe. Mahesh Gurjar presented a striking acrylic-on-canvas painting that beautifully depicted the valor and cultural significance of Tejaji Maharaj, a revered folk deity in Rajasthan. The artwork stood out for its vibrant composition and deep cultural essence.
The painting received wide appreciation from art enthusiasts, visitors, and fellow artists in Russia, who admired its unique representation of Indian heritage. In recognition of his participation and artistic excellence, Mahesh Gurjar was awarded an “International Participant Certificate,” marking a proud moment for both the artist and the state.
Speaking about his inspiration, Mahesh Gurjar credited his late father Nathulal Gurjar, a renowned painter and social worker. He shared that his father’s dedication to art and society deeply influenced his creative journey and continues to inspire his work.
